Mr. Ranni concentrates in litigation including employment, labor, discrimination, sexual harassment, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), civil rights, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age Discrimination in Employment (ADEA), gender, race, color, national origin,and sexual preference. He also handles corporate human resource policies, executive employment contract preparation and negotiations as well as severance agreements. Mr. Ranni also litigates trusts and estates, disability matters, insurance and personal injury. He is currently a presiding Justice for the Town of Chester.
Mr. Ranni is a member of the New York State Bar Association Trial Lawyers Section and the Committee on Issues effecting Persons with Disabilities; National Employment Lawyers Association; Orange County Bar Association; New Jersey State Bar Association and Florida State Bar Association. He also volunteers his time with The United States District Court, Southern District of New York Mediation Program; New York State Surrogate Decision-Making Committee; and several local civic organizations, including the Orange County Citizens Foundation for which he Chairs a committee. He is also a former President of the Sugar Loaf Community Foundation. He is a certified New York State Nursing Home Ombudsman and Article 81 Guardian for the elderly and incapacitated.
Mr. Ranni is a 1984 graduate of the State University of New York at Albany where he obtained his BA degrees in both Economics and Political Science. He received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1987 from Brooklyn Law School and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1987. He is also admitted to practice law in the States of Florida (1999) and New Jersey (2000).
He is admitted in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York ; District Court of New Jersey and the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit. He was admitted to the United States Supreme Court in 1991. Mr. Ranni was a Managing Partner of a successful boutique Wall Street firm in lower Manhattan from 1994 to 2001. Currently, he splits his time between Orange County and New York City in our mid-town office, located next to Grand Central Station in the Graybar Building .
